Terms and Conditions for Rental of the Gites

Bookings and Deposit

Bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday arrival from 16.00pm onwards but individual requests will be accommodated if availability allows. A 15% deposit is required at the time of booking which is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled less than six weeks prior to holiday date. The remainder of the balance to be paid in-full six weeks prior to the holiday start date. In order that our gites are adequately prepared for new arrivals, we must ask you to vacate the gites by 10.00am on the day of your departure. We would suggest that you take the above in to account when booking your crossings etc (we will try to accommodate other time scales where possible).
We only take bookings from family type groups and are unable to take bookings from the same sex parties. The group leader taking responsibility for the rental must be 18 years of age or above at the time of booking. We reserve the right to decline prospective bookings without giving any reason. We operate a strictly NO SMOKING policy inside the gites also, we are unable to accept any pets.

Security Deposit / Cleaning & Breakages

You will be expected to look after the property and not to abuse it in any way. Any breakages of any sort should be reported to the owners and maybe subject to a deduction in the security deposit when returned to you. It is in your interests to look after the property. A security deposit of £150.00 for Logez Boudin, £100.00 for Logez Degas, Logez Seurat and Logez Gauguin and £50.00 for Logez Lautrec will be added-on to the final cost of the holiday and paid at the same time as the final balance. The security deposit will be returned to you in the form of cheque approximately one week after your departure subject to a satisfactory inspection of the property and its contents.
You will be required to leave the property in the same condition as it was when handed over to you, CLEAN AND TIDY. You will also be expected to clean the BBQ if used during your stay alternatively; we do offer a cleaning service at the following rates; - Logez Boudin £35.00, Logez Degas & Logez Seurat £25.00, Logez Gauguin £30.00 and Logez Lautrec £20.00. To take-up this service please advise us midway through your holiday so that the above can be arranged.

Forms of Payment

We do not take credit cards payment should either be by cheque, cash (sterling), Euros or by internet banking by prior arrangement. Cheques should be made payable to MRS M.A. MISSENDEN and sent to our UK address by prior arrangement.

Personal Insurance, Personal Health & Safety

Visitors to our gites should be aware that we have a swimming pool and that children of all ages should be suitably supervised at all times (no life guard). Please also observe the swimming pool rules for your own safety – NO RUNNING, NO DIVING AND NO DRINKS/FOOD OR GLASSWARE allowed in pool fenced area. It is IMPORTANT that you take out the necessary insurance to cover personal injury or loss.
While on holiday safety and security is basic common sense and it is the responsibility of the renter to ensure any reasonable security measures are carried-out. Any loss or damage to the properties occurring as a result of a failure to follow reasonable security measures or through negligence is the sole responsibility of the renter.
Use of the property, swimming pool and all facilities on-site are at the risk of the renter, care should be taken at all times and we recommend that appropriate insurance is taken out to cover all eventualities during your stay.
We (the owners) will not be held responsible for any misfortune, whilst staying here. By booking with us and agreeing to these terms and conditions you are accepting to take full responsibility for personal injury or accidental damage or loss.
IMPORTANT - CARBON MONOXIDE and SMOKE ALARMS are fitted in all properties.
The maximum number to reside in or at any of the properties must not exceed the number stated on the booking form unless the owners have given permission.
The owners shall not be liable for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services nor in respect of any equipment or appliance in the property or garden.

Pool, Garden, Golf Course & General Maintenance

The pool is cleaned everyday (by the owners) and when the weather is very hot the chemical levels will be checked through-out the day. The pool is normally opened from 10.00am to 20.00pm as we need to consider our neighbours and adjust chemical levels and carry-out general maintenance. The pool is fenced in accordance with French Law and it is inspected through the main holiday months by the Health Authorities who have the power to close it down if found to be below standard – this has never happened we have a 100% clarity rate.
The golf course and gardens are maintained by the owners (who live on-site). The long grass on the golf course is normally cut once a week while the short (the greens) are normally cut twice a week but it does depend on the weather.
General maintenance is also carried-out by the owners who live on-site and will be available to help rectify any problems should they arise.

Septic Tank

As with most properties in France we have a septic tank and are not connected to mains sewerage. This causes no problems as long as it is treated with the correct chemicals and toilet cleaning fluid (supplied). The system does not tolerate bleach unless it is stated on the bottle ‘suitable for fosse septic’ as inappropriate products can stop it working properly by killing the bacteria that the system relies on. Under no circumstances must the following be flushed down the toilet;- ladies sanitary wear (pads or tampons), baby wipes including flushable botty wipes, condoms, face flannels, sweet wrappers, coffee granules and paper kitchen towels etc etc as these will block the system and cause inconvenience to everyone and expense to the party concerned.
